Hand-Dug Exterior Full-Foundation Waterproofing System

First we carefully remove any plants or shrubs for replanting. Excavation of the wall will continue to the bottom of the footer. All old pile and debris are removed. The wall is power-washed to exposed to any cracks, pits, holes, or trouble areas. Hydraulic cement is used to repair these imperfections and to eliminate leaking. A parging coat is placed over the entire wall area to grade. A ramp of parging is placed at the heel of the footer where the wall meets. Once set, a masonry coating is placed on the parging coat to ensure a water-tight seal

Once set, a final coat of heavy duty foundation coating is put on the entire wall area. When wet, a layer of 6-mil plastic is added as a vapor barrier to ensure no penetration. A stone base of 6" or more is placed in the excavated area. A 4" perforated drain pipe is placed onto the stone base and properly tied into the existing outlet. On top of the pipe a placement of 24" of gravel insures proper drainage.The option of using all gravel is definitely available also.

The existing soil is then back-filled and ramped. Existing shrubs and bushes are replanted. All extra soil is removed, or at customer's request can be left or spread to other areas.
